Overcoming Mononucleosis

Hello world!

So I'm finally coming back to life again. I tricked everyone, didn't I? You all thought that I was back from Hong Kong and starting to blog again, and then all of a sudden - I fell off the face of the planet. Literally. Well, figuratively. Having quite gotten off the face of this planet ... yet.

Anyhow, I wanted to share an experience that I recently had. A trial that I have overcome to be more precise. About 6 months ago I returned from a trip to Hong Kong, which has been the best thing ever to this point in my life. When I returned to the States, I had a hard adjustment. Amidst pressures in the dating culture here, jumping right back into school a few days after my return, and getting the Epstein-Barr virus (more commonly known as mononucleosis or just mono) I had a very difficult experience the hardest thing ever to this point in my life. I wish I could express the utter pain that I felt, but I can't think of words to express it. The pain and heartbreak was so horrifying that I had wished I could be someone else and live someone else's life. Awful, I know. However, there is a well-known talk entitled "Sunday Will Come" by Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin.

And you know what? Sunday came. It's still here. Yes, life has it's ups and downs and some that feel like you are on a roller coaster plunging to your death, but in the end you have a safety device on and when it's over, you're safe (and somehow you have the crazy idea of doing it again!) Yes, I love rollercoasters. Yes, I love life. Say yes to life!

Overcoming mono and the challenges that faced me after coming back from Hong Kong have helped me to grow and stretch and definitely has kept life exciting.

Keep growing!
